Andy Biersack: ”Haluamme ensimmäisen musiikkivideon kuvastavan koko albumia”

Black Veil Bridesin viides studioalbumi ”Vale” julkaistiin tänään 12. tammikuuta. Albumi sisältää muun muassa kappaleet ”The Outsider”, ”My Vow” ja ”When They Call My Name”, jotka voit kuunnella uutisen lopusta. Bändin laulaja Andy Biersack ja rumpali Christian ”CC” Coma olivat taannoin Rock Sound Podcastin tentattavana muun muassa albumin markkinointiin ja ensimmäiseen musiikkivideoon liittyen.

Albumin markkinoinnista puhuttaessa Andy kommentoi:

”I’ve always been so ’everything has to be a certain way and everything needs to be this exact way,’ and I really felt that this time around, maybe it might be nice to bring in some other people and outside people who can not necessarily take away from the vision that I’ve laid down but maybe add things and help out and really see where it can be taken.”

Kysyttäessä videosta Andy kertoi julkaisun ajankohdassa olleen paljon ristiriitoja: Pitäisikö video julkaista ennen kiitospäivää? Pitäisikö se julkaista ennen albumia? Lopulta Biersack kuitenkin totesi seuraavasti:

”We don’t need to advance an album with a music video. Why don’t we just do something awesome and take our time with it and put it out when it’s done, which will likely be soon before the album is out. So that’s really the way we’re looking at it. And we want something that’s gonna be representative of the record, also something that represents the stage show, and that’s all taking time to put together.”

Black Veil Bridesin aikaisemmat videot on ohjannut Patrick Fogarty. Bändi aikoo jatkaa yhteistyötä Fogartyn kanssa myös tulevaisuudessa, mutta tulevaa videota varten bändi toivoo uutta näkökulmaa, tai kuten Andy itse sanoo:

”Maybe we just get into a different world where we see, what does Black Veil look like through a different lens than just the kind of story that we’ve always built”.
