Ruoka-aiheista parodiaa metallimusiikista: katso miten aamiainen valmistetaan Motörheadin ”Ace of Spades” -kappaleen tahtiin

Cooking Hostile on Floridalaisen Joey Silerin luoma animaatiosarja, jossa metallimuusikot esittävät kappaleitaan niin, että alkuperäiset lyriikat on korvattu pääosin ruokaohjeilla. Sarjan pääosassa on Panterassa laulanut Phil Anselmo, mutta mukana nähdään myös mm. Ozzy Osbourne sekä Sepulturasta ja omista Soulfly– ja Cavalera Conspiracy -yhtyeistään tuttu Max Cavalera. Sarjan viidennessä jaksossa esiintyy viime vuoden lopussa menehtynyt rock-legenda Lemmy Kilmister, joka kokkaa aamiaista Motörhead-yhtyeensä ”Ace of Spades” -kappaleen tahtiin. Siler laulaa Panteran kappaleita esittävässä Good Friends & A Bottle Of Whisky -tribuuttiyhtyeessä. Hän kertoo animaatiosarjan synnystä Vanyalandille:

”I was just joking around at band practice after we got done jamming ’5 Minutes Alone’ and I told the guys, ’What if Phil had his own cooking show and I changed the lyrics to ’5 Minutes On Low?” Everyone got a good laugh out of it. It was nothing more than a joke, but I had recently got into doing animation as a hobby at the beginning of this year and had messed around with making a few animations and decided to come up with some ideas for the ’Cooking Hostile With Phil Anselmo’ [two-and-half-minute short] video. During the next week, I picked a few PANTERA songs and worked on changing the lyrics up and showed the guys and they thought it was hilarious, so we laid down the tracks and I started working on the animation. The whole project was probably done in about four weeks.”

Animaatio on saanut siinä esiintyvien muusikoiden siunauksen, ja jotkut heistä ovat jopa ääninäytelleet siinä, kuten itse Phil Anselmo. Ennen sarjassa esiintymistään hän kommentoi sitä seuraavasti:

”Of course I’ve seen it. Brilliant, awesome, hilarious, bravo. I love it, I think it’s hilarious. The guy who does it, Joey Siler, he’s very talented, he’s awesome, and if he wants to really do a cartoon, then he’d better call me up and let me get the real voice in there. We’ll do a real cooking show, cos hey, can cook, I’m from New Orleans. Let’s do it!”
