Stone Temple Pilotsin kitaristi Dean DeLeo kertoo yhtyeen vaatimuksista tulevan vokalistin suhteen

Yhdysvaltalainen rockyhtye Stone Temple Pilots aloitti hiljattain avoimen haun jolla yhtye etsii uutta vokalistia bändin jättäneen Chester Benningtonin (Linkin Park) tilalle. Yhtyeen kitaristi Dean DeLeo on antanut haun tiimoilta haastattelun RollingStone.com:lle jossa on kertonut hiema tarkemmin millaista laulajaa yhtye oikein riveihinsä tällä hetkellä hakee. “We’ll know when it’s the right person before they’ll even open their mouth, just when they walk into the room. We’re looking to be moved by somebody. You know Glen Campbell said to me a long time ago, “Dean, you got to live it to write it” — and you kind of know when that person walks into a room. I want to be hit in that place in my soul where music buries itself. That feeling, man. That’s what we want.”

Kysyttäessä haluaisiko yhtye seuraavaksi samantyylisen vokalistin joko Scott Weilandin tai Chester Benningtonin kanssa vastasi Dean DeLeo seuraavaa:

“Look, here’s how I look at it: A great singer will carry an average band; a great band won’t carry an average singer. So what we’re looking for is a pretty tall order, man. We’ve had the fortune of playing with some of the greatest and most talented singers out there, Tyler being one of them. Robert, Eric and I know what we want, and, like I said earlier, when that person walks into a room, we’ll know.”
