Disney Metal -albumi
Disney muutti tunnettujen piirrettyjen musiikit raskaammaksi – mukana Leijonakuningas, Aladdin, Pieni Merenneito
Media- ja viihdeteollisuusyhtiö Disney on ottanut erilaisen lähestymistavan metallimusiikin kuuntelijoiden suuntaan. Viime viikolla yhtiö antoi Every Time I Die -yhtyeelle porttikiellon, kun taas nyt Disney julkaisi power metal -albumin.
D-Metal Stars -kokoonpanon levy sisältää raskaampia versioita tunnettujen piirrettyjen musiikista. ”Metal Disney” -julkaisu ilmestyi Japanissa jo viime vuoden lokakuussa, ja sen suuren suosion vuoksi julkaistiin maaliskuun 31. päivä Yhdysvalloissa. D-Metal Starsiin kuuluvat Obsessionin vokalisti Michael Vescera ja kitaristi John Bruno, Dee Sniderin sooloprojektin basisti Rudy Sarzo sekä Obsessionin entinen rumpali B.J Zampa.
Laulaja Vescera kommentoi Rolling Stones -lehdelle:

”It’s all the stuff that I grew up on. You would think the opposite, being hard rock guys or in that kind of field of music. But everybody loves it. It’s crazy.”
Vescera kertoi kappaleiden työstämisestä:
”I basically sat in the studio and tried a million different options. You think, ’Aw, it’s a kid’s song,'”, ”But when you get into how they wrote these things, they’re quite incredible and really well written and so it’s just figuring out what exactly is going on and then taking it piece by piece.”
