Ennakkokuuntelu: Skrømt – Sjelebrann

Norjalainen monivivahteista metallia omalla kielellään esittävä kvartetti Skrømt julkaisee 1. päivä syyskuuta uuden albuminsa nimeltä ”Sjelebrann”, jonka tiimoilta yhtye saapuu myös neljän keikan mittaiselle kiertueelle Suomeen. Kaaoszine yhteistyössä yhtyeen kanssa tarjoaa nyt lukijoilleen viikon ajan mahdollisuuden kuunnella kyseisen albumin ennakkoon kokonaisuudessaan sivustollaan. 01. Prolog:
– A short narrative, setting the stage for the listener to get ready to be immersed in the universe that is ”Sjelebrann”. Best of all, when you listen to the album the second time around, you might notice some familiar elements. Listen close!

02. Sorg:
– Picking up the pace, one of the faster songs. However, just when you think you know what you’re getting, it throws you a curveball.

03. Syk:
– Moving us soundly into the Asylum, this odd little number has it all. Melodic parts, groovy parts, metal parts. It is also the first introduction of clean vocals on the record.

04. Slumsøstre:
– Well, if you thought the last one was odd, this one is none the better. In all essence it is two separate songs pieced together, but with the magic of Skrømt, it works out really well. Oh.. And this track features super sexy female guest vocals, be prepared for wet dreams.

05. Askens Despot:
– one of the last tracks finished for the album, and the only one featuring a guitar ”solo”. Keeping to odd structures, it has all the vocal parts huddled up together in the middle, and long instrumental parts at each end.

06. Spirer I Stein:
– We wrote this track for an acoustic gig, but just had to include it in our normal set once we realized how heavy that chorus would sound with distorted guitars. Keep your ears peeled for surprises along the way, especially towards the end.

07. Skjære:
– The song that started it all, the first one we wrote together, so I guess we can call this the essence of bastard metal. Real fun to play live (they all are), and somewhat of a crowd pleaser.

08. Jeg Tok Regnet Som Min Brud:
– Another song written for our acoustic set, showcasing Skrømt at its most mellow and brooding. You wanted dark, you got dark
