Ozzy Osbournelle GQ:n Vuoden Mies 2020 -palkinto

Ozzy Osbournelle on myönnetty yli 50-vuotisesta laulajan urastaan GQ-lehden Man Of The Year Lifetime Achievement Award -palkinto. 71-vuotias Osbourne kertoi ensimmäistä kertaa digitaalisena järjestetyssä palkintogaalassa ihmisten luulleen Black Sabbathin yrittävän loitsia nimellään mustaa magiaa:

”People thought we were a black magic, fucking spooky band. We sung a few things about that, environmental issues, or everything that was going on to this day. I mean so it’s kind of funny because people start doing songs about the pandemic, we were doing that 50 years ago.”

Pimeyden Prinssi muisteli myös Black Sabbathin 70-luvun alkupuolen pop-henkisyydestä vähintäänkin poikkeavaa sanomaa, jonka myötä yhtye nousi myöhemmin Osbourne keulassaan yhdeksi maailman tärkeimmistä rock-yhtyeistä:

”Everyone sung about boy meets girl and I wanted to do something that interests me, how Vietnam was going, the fear of nuclear holocaust. That blew my mind, I thought ’what is going with this world.'”
