Dragonforcesta tutun basistin Frédéric Leclercqin yhdessä Slipknotista tutun rumpalin Joey Jordisonin kanssa perustama death metal -yhtye Sinsaenum esiintyy Suomessa kaiken kaikkiaan kolmen keikan verran lokakuussa: 26. päivä Apollossa Turussa, 27. päivä Olympia-korttelissa Tampereella sekä 28. päivä On The Rocksissa Helsingissä. Pyysimme kiertueen lähestyessä yhtyeessä kitaraa soittavaa Frédéric Leclercqia listaamaan mielestään viisi kautta aikain parasta death metal -albumia. Morbid Angel: ”Blessed Are The Sick”

”This is the ultimate death metal to me. The riffs are intricate, there’s the perfect amount of fast, blasting parts and slow, doomy riffs. The solos are crazy, the voice is perfect, the songwriting on point and the interludes superb. The cover (’Les Trésors de Satan’ a painting by Jean Delville) is amazing (and is tattooed on my right arm) and I also love the clean, unusual production. So yeah, it’s my favorite death metal album, and probably my favorite album of all time, period.”

Pestilence: ”Testimony of the Ancients”

”I just love the way it was technical and melodic but not ’lame’ melodic. I don’t like what people call ’melodic’ death metal because it usual implies obvious melodies.. Testimony has great melodies but nothing is ’obvious’ nor ’easy’. I also love the concept album vibe of it with the interludes-something I paid tribute to on ’Echoes of the Tortured’.”

Carcass: ”Necrotism (Descanting The Insalubrious)”

”Hard to choose between this one and ’Heartwork’, both are awesome, but I chose ’Necrotism’ cos thats the first one I heard, through the song ’Incarnated Solvent Abuse’. Again, and great, great sense of melody without being obvious and predictable. the sound and the vocals are evil. Brings back a lot of good memories.”

Death: ”Scream Bloody Gore”

”I could have also put ’Leprosy’, ’Symbolic’, ’Human’, hell, all the albums are great (pretty much like all the bands I’ve mentioned here to be honest, it’s hard to pick just one). Again ’Scream Bloody Gore’ is the first one I heard and so it holds a special place in my heard. Especially the song ’Evil Dead’ (which we covered with Dragonforce), since its my favorite horror movie as well. Seminal album.”

Cannibal Corpse: ”Tomb of the Mutilated”

”Super brutal album, and I think the cover also helps to reinforce this. I mean, the album opening track is ’Hammer Smashed Face’ which is such a great death metal song!! I also love the song ’Beyond the cemetary’ which drove me crazy when I was a teenager with its repetitive, hypnotic riff- feels like a stabbing scene in a horror movie. and the title ’Necropedophile’ is hilarious-when you have a twisted sense of humour like me.”
