Thrash metal-jyrä External julkaisi uuden musiikkivideon

Parkano/Tampere -akselilla operoiva thrash metal-yhtye External on julkaissut uuden musiikkivideon kappaleelleen ”Slave Of One’s Own Creation”. Videosta vastaa Johannes Latva, rumpujen äänityksestä sekä kappaleen masteroinnista Diablon Heikki Malmberg, miksauksesta Janne Korpela ja tuotannosta JC Halttunen.

This particular song is not a very new one. It has existed in some form for quite some time, and has gone through multiple phases of reformation. Julius’ goal has been to achieve a piece that is kind of accessible and familiar, but still diverse and interesting. The song has some familiar rock riffage and catchy melody lines – But the song structure, for example, is more calculated than ever.

The structure itself isn’t anything revolutional, but somewhat dynamic and progressive. For example, the first two verses have different keys and they follow different rhythmical feels. The function of this kind of progression is to keep the song interesting throughout its running time of six minutes. We also decided to experiment with some synths, adding an extra fresh taste in the mix. The synths also go hand-in-hand with the lyrical theme of the song. Lyrically Julius has taken a thought on digitalization, the main point of view being how machines could take our place as the most intelligent species of this planet.
