Virginialaismies pidätettiin väärennettyjen Black Sabbath -keikkalippujen myymisestä

The Baltimore Sun -lehden mukaan 34-vuotias mies pidätettiin Virginiassa tämän myytyä väärennettyjä lippuja Black Sabbathin keikalle. Tapahtuma järjestettiin Live Nationin toimesta 21.8. Bristowissa Virginan osavaltiossa. Elokuun puolivälissä eräs petoksen uhreista ilmoitti poliisille Craigslist-sivuston kautta ostaneidensa neljän Black Sabbath -keikkalipun olleen väärennettyjä. Hän sai selville asiasta oltuaan yhteydessä lipunmyyjä Ticketmasteriin. 

Selvitystyön myötä poliisi pääsi Mannassasissa Virginiassa asuvan Shannon Michael Seeber jäljille epäiltynä rikoksesta. Pidätyshetkellä Seeberilla oli hallussaan lukuisia väärennettyjä lippuja useiden muidenkin artistien konsertteihin, kuten Barbara Streisand, Drake ja Adele. Lippujen lisäksi hänen kulkuneuvostaan löydettiin malleja väärennetyille henkilöllisyystodistuksille, käsiase sekä laittomiksi epäiltyjä huumausaineita. Howardin maakunnan poliisilaitos kertoo tapauksesta Facebookissa:

Howard County police have arrested a suspect following the sale of fraudulent concert tickets after a victim reported the incident to police. Detectives are encouraging possible additional victims to come forward.

Shannon Michael Seeber, 34, of Loudoun Avenue in Manassas, VA, has been charged with theft scheme, forgery, possession of false government identification, drug possession and related charges.

In mid-August, a victim reported to police that through Craigslist he had arranged to purchase four tickets for Live Nation presents Black Sabbath’s Aug. 21 concert. The victim met the seller at a public location in Elkridge to complete the sale. After contacting Ticketmaster, the victim learned the tickets were fraudulent and called police.

Through investigation, police developed Seeber as a suspect, located and arrested him. At the time of his arrest, Seeber was in possession of additional fraudulent tickets to multiple concerts, including Black Sabbath, Barbara Streisand, Drake and Adele. Several templates for United States Identification Badges, a handgun and suspected illegal drugs were also located in his vehicle.

Seeber was released on $35,000 bond.

Police are releasing his photo in an effort to locate possible additional scam victims. Anyone who purchased fraudulent tickets from this suspect is urged to contact police at 410-313-2200 to file a report.
