Earlier today we received an email stating, ”Sky Eats Airplane broke up. Guitarist Zack told me himself.” Thus began our five-minute online quest to find out if this information was true.
Well, it appears that Sky Eats Airplane has indeed broken up. Or, if you’d like to be technical, Sky Eats Airplane is on an indefinite hiatus. This news probably won’t surpise anyone, as the band has always seemed to have problems maintaining a stable line-up. Additionally, three of its remaining members (Elliot Coleman, Travis Orbin, and Zack Ordway) are now playing in recent Season of Mist signees, Of Legends.
When asked by a fan this week if there was a chance of any new Sky Eats Airplane material, Coleman stated: ”I’d say there’s a chance, although I’m not exactly how likely it is to happen.”
Meanwhile, last month Orbin had the following to say: ”The band’s on a hiatus until we post a press release or public statement of some kind. Don’t get your hopes up. At any rate, Zack, Elliot and I will be making noise together for a long time!”
We’ll see what happens.
