Basisti Pete Way (ex-UFO, ex-Ozzy Osbourne) kiidätetty sairaalaan keuhkoveritulpan ja sydänkohtauksen vuoksi

Mm. UFOssa ja Ozzy Osbournen sooloyhtyeessä soittanut brittiläinen basisti Pete Way on saanut kiidätetty sairaalaan sydänkohtauksen ja keuhkoveritulpan vuoksi. Hänen vaimonsa Jenny Way tiedottaa aiheesta seuraavaa:

”My husband Pete Way has collapsed after a short business trip to Germany and is currently in hospital. He has had a heart attack and a blood clot has been found on his lung. Needless to say, I am in bits, but Pete is fighting like he always does. We are NOT going to lose another one. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.”

Hiljattain 65-vuotta täyttänyt Way selätti eturauhassyövän 2014, ja kommentoi aihetta tuolloin seuraavasti:

”I thought the blood in my pee must have been linked to the drugs I had taken down the years.”

”When they said I had cancer, I thought I was going to die. Then when they told me it was gone, it was a strange anticlimax — now I can’t use the cancer as an excuse for having a sore head.”

Way on työstänyt lähiaikoina myöhemmin tänä vuonna julkaistavaa ”Walking On The Edge”sooloalbumiaan, jonka miksasi mm. Metallican ja Guns N’ Rosesin kanssa työskennellyt yhdysvaltalainen tuottaja Mike Clink. Albumista julkaistu näyte on kuunneltavissa alta, kun taas miehen kommentteja voit lukea tästä:

”I know playing unfinished mixes is tantamount to a crime – but I thought you may like to listen to one of the ballads on the forthcoming album. Having played a snippet of the Slash ’Narcotics’ track I thought it would be interesting to know your thoughts on ’Heartache’. Don’t worry guys – there is plenty of rock ’n’ roll on the album.”
