Black metalin ja visuaalisen taiteen leikkauspisteessä: Satyricon ja Munch-museo yhteistyöhön

Norjalainen black metal -yhtye Satyricon on tekemässä uutta aluevaltausta. Yhtyeen musiikkia tullaan kuulemaan norjalaisen taidemaalari Edvard Munchin teoksia esittelevässä Munch-museossa Oslossa, jonne avataan näyttely ”Satyricon & Munch” alkuvuodesta 2022. Näyttelyn lupaillaan olevan black metalin ja visuaalisen taiteen leikkauspiste, ja museon kymmenennen kerroksen suureen saliin koottavan näyttelyn kerrotaan tarjoavan kävijöille uusia näkökulmia niin Munchin kuin Satyriconin tuotantoon. Yhtyeen keulahahmo Sigurd ”Satyr” Wongraven kertoo tulevasta yhteistyöstä näin:

”Since the fall of 2018, Satyricon has been working on the writing and recording of a musical work whose main objective is to create a symbiosis with Edvard Munch’s iconic art in an exhibition that will be held at the new Munch Museum in Oslo, Norway, opening 26.3.2022. Following the exhibition will be the release of the musical work in album format, carrying the same title as the exhibition, ’Satyricon & Munch’.
