Yhdysvaltalainen perheenisä Chris Watts murhasi elokuun 13. päivänä raskaana olevan vaimonsa ja heidän kaksi yhteistä tytärtään. Alkuviikolla paikallinen KCNC-televisiokanava uutisoi surmatyöstä ilmestyneet laajemmat poliisiraportit, joiden mukaan Watts oli etsinyt Googlesta Metallican ”Battery”-kappaleen sanoituksia surmatyön jälkeen. Uutinen on herättänyt Yhdysvalloissa jälleen keskustelun lisääkö kappaleiden agrressiiviset sanoitukset ihmisen aggressiivista käytöstä.

Watts tuomittiin kuluvalla viikolla kolmesta peräkkäisestä murhasta elinikäiseen vankeustuomioon sekä kahtena lisätuomiona 48 vuotta vankeutta raskauden laittomasta päättämisestä sekä 12 vuotta jokaisen ruumiin peukaloimisesta, kun hän yritti peitellä tekonsa.
