Cradle of Filthillä suunnitelmissa siirtyä studion uumeniin vuoden 2020 alussa nauhoittamaan tulevaa albumiaan
Englantilainen äärimetallin veteraani Cradle of Filth ilmoitti hiljattain saapuvansa kesällä Suomeen esiintymään Nummijärvellä juhannuksena järjestettävään Nummirockiin. Yhtyeen laulaja Dani Filth on antanut hiljattain Robb’s MetalWorksille haastattelun, jossa hän on paljastanut yhtyeen suunnitelmia tulevan vielä nimeämättömän albumin julkaisun suhteen. Danin mukaan yhtye on varannut ajan studioon vuoden 2020 alkuun ja yhtyeen seuraava albumi ilmestyy joko ennen kesää tai heti kesän jälkeen. Dani kertoi albumin alustavasta aikataulusta seuraavaa:
”We’re going to be re-releasing ’Cruelty [And The Beast]’ this year — remixed and remastered, totally from the original tapes. It took us quite a lengthy amount of time. [We] had some legal issues for a bit, so it would have been on the 20th anniversary, which was last year, but it’s going to be at some point this year via Sony. We’ve got a live album in the works, and we’re also currently writing toward a successor to ’Cryptioriana’… Obviously, it’s a little bit difficult on the road, but I think we’ve got the beginnings of about four [or] five tracks. Those all sound really good. The studio is destined for early next year, with a release date either before or after the summer, depending on the live album and the reissue of ’Cruelty’. We’re going to experiment a little bit, see what happens really. At the moment, it’s in its infancy… The autumn will see us fine tune the stuff and finish writing.”

Kysyttäessä millaista materiaalia on luvassa, Dani kuvailee tulevan albumin tähän asti kirjoitettua materiaalia loistavaksi ja kertoo materiaalista seuraavaa:
”It’s sounding great. It’s just a step up from the last record, but we’re trying to explore new horizons as well — mix some things up a little bit. It’s great. What I’ve heard is awesome. I’m starting to assemble some ideas, string things together. Hopefully being on the road will bring us a lot closer together and [we’ll be able to] do stuff in soundcheck et cetera.
It’s decidedly CRADLE OF FILTH, and it’s the best CRADLE OF FILTH that we can muster. The last few records, a lot of people said, ’Wow, this is a return to the olden glory days,’ whatever. I think that myself, but I don’t know if that reflects everybody’s opinions. But, yeah, now I’m not gonna say it’s darker and heavier. I mean, we’ve done that, and there’s only so far you can go forward with that. We’re just gonna experiment a little bit. It’s hard to really say, ’cause, at the moment, everything’s just a bit fledgling and embryonic.”
