Laulaja Jonny Craigin viesti:
I wanted to take the time out to write a blog and express some things. As the majority of you know I was formally in a band called Dance Gavin Dance from Sacramento, California. I guess there’s really only one way to start this off so I’ll kind of start from the beginning. For some time I wanted to leave DGD and was never really happy or felt settled in with them. There was a certain amount of pressure to stay with DGD due to the fast pace of how things picked up and how we were doing well, so I stayed. All along I never felt happy with the mesh of characters and just how things were kind of forced upon. Now I know all the questions about the blog are all over the place. I guess there is really only way to confront the issue and that is tell my side of the story. The ”drug” abuse was something that I did have to deal with at one point in my life, but not recently within this past year. I never stole drugs from anyone to try and get by and I never ran away due to my home BEING in Canada….I live there. I have my G.E.D and plan on taking college courses if time from touring allows so. I hold no grudges to any of the guys for kicking me out and leaving me in New Jersey whatsoever and I want everyone to understand that. The day after everything happened in New Jersey there was talk of me being left on the East Coast since I had no money, flight, or ride to California so I was offered a place in Lexington, Kentucky. I met the guys (Emarosa) here and instantly formed friendships from the start with each and every one of them. We had a few days to write to some new songs before they had a show/parted ways with their old vocalist. Emarosa is a better choice for me due to the new style of music that we are going…musically and vocally. I mesh so well with the guys and feel like I honestly have known them for years and this is like my second chance and something I want to make right. The music that they’re writing for the full length is just my style and direction that I want to go. I am just completely 100% focused to this album and making it the best I can, it is more than anything I have ever wanted.
With all this said I want to make it known that I am not writing this blog to point out fingers or making anyone mad. I wish Dance Gavin Dance all the best of luck with their future endeavors with whatever they do. I recently just got back on the internet and got the chance to listen to some of the auditions and also wanted to wish whoever tries out for DGD the best of luck as well. I want to thank everyone who has kept in touch with me over the course of the past week with messages, comments, phone calls, seriously everything has meant the world to me. I also want to address that I am not rude to my fans, that just at past DGD shows I would simply keep to myself. I want to STRESS to everyone for future references at our Emarosa shows to approach me and please don’t be shy. Fans are what make music even worth its while so please keep in touch with me and don’t misunderstand something you read without hearing both sides.

Emarosan viesti
As many of you already know Chris is no longer a part of Emarosa. For the past few months we have been keeping extremely busy, writing new material for our upcoming full lenght and playing show. Bands change and mature with more experience and time, as people and musicians. For those that have followed us pre-Emarosa, you will understand that we have been through this situation before and that for our listeners, it is tough to overcome. We would never do it if we didn’t feel it was for the better of the band and the music we create.
We realize Chris was a large part of our band, being a front man and a role-model for many of you. An aspect of being in a band that is extremely difficult to express to the public is that you can’t force personalities to mesh, even if the musical result is satisfying. Over the past few months Chris has gained other priorities that removed him more and more from the band. He was unable to make practices, living two hours away, and with a fiancee he was not able to give the time required for a full time touring band. This ultimately became more and more of a problem causing the band and Chris to grow apart.
We feel that the direction of the new material we have been writing adequately represents us as musicians and people. With the addition of Jonny Craig (formerly Dance Gavin Dance), we feel we have reached a level of maturity that we are very comfortable with. We didn’t intend for any of this to happen the way it did, but now that it has, we are embracing the change and feel its best for the music we are creating. Regardless of the vocalist, our goals and creative ambitions are still the same.
We met Jonny through a series of events involving his previous band. He ended up coming to Lexington, knowing very few people, in hopes of finding new friends, a fresh start and a temporary home to get back on his feet. For those who are wondering, we were aware of the blog posted by Dance Gavin Dance regarding Jonny’s departure. However after meeting him and getting to know him, we decided to try him out with our music. We are believers in second chances. Jonnys is already showing a great deal of dedication and postiive attitude towards a new start(blog) and we think this will be apparent.
Jonny’s presence with us during our few practices and the writing process so far, has just felt extremely natural, and after his first show with us in Lexington saturday night, it became clear that he, in our minds, is what we feel fits us and direction of our new music.
We really want to thank the fans of Emarosa. You have and always will mean everything to us, its been said but its true, we would be nothing without you all. We asked for your continued support of our music and us as people to grow and continue to make the music we love to make. We would really like for you guys, despite first impressions, to have an open and positive mind about this. This is our choice, and we truly believe we have made the right one.
We hope to have new material, with Jonny, recorded and up very soon for you guys to listen to – and until then please stop by and welcome him to the band.

Hey Everyone, We took the blog down as we’re pretty sure its been read by most everyone If you were not informed, Jonny (singing vocals, not screamed vocals) is no longer in the band. We are thankful that majority of the response to all of this has been positive, and we really appreciate all the feedback. We have received a ton of messages, and have read all of them and want to thank everyone for giving their opinions. We are looking for a new singer, if you would like to audition, please send an example and or link of your singing to Dancegavin@hotmail.com If you are not a singer but have any ideas to who might fit the job, you can send us a message or post here. We are writing quickly and have four or so new songs in the works right now, its looking like the new cd is going to be a lengthy one.
Thank you everyone for all the support!
