Deftonesista julkaistiin dokumentti ilman yhtyeen lupaa

Yhdysvaltalaista metalliyhtyettä Deftonesia vuonna 2000 julkaistun ”White Pony” albumin tiimoilta kuvannut ohjaaja Andrew Bennett on julkaissut yhtyeestä dokumentin nimeltä ”Entertain Me: A Film About Deftones”. Dokumentista tekee erikoisen sen myöhästyneen julkaisun lisäksi se, että yhtye itse ei ole antanut siunausta sen julkaisulle ja uhkaa kuvaajaa oikeudella. Yhtyeen management on kommentoinut dokumenttia seuraavasti:

“Andy Bennet has no rights to exploit any Deftones material and anything he does using the band’s name, songs or performances will be dealt with in the most severe way. The Deftones are committed to providing their fans with the best possible musical and artistic experience. Bennet is a naked infringer of the Deftones rights, and we will do whatever is necessary to prevent this alleged “filmmaker” from creating a poor experience and making money off of some sub-par product he’s trying to put out without securing the proper permissions from the band, their label and their song publishers.”
