Far-Less tauolle

Yhdysvaltalainen post-hardcore yhtye Far-Less on päättänyt siirtyä tauolle. Lue lisää nähdäksesi bändin virallinen viesti aiheesta.

Over rthe past couple years I have tried my best to keep everyone who pays attention to our music updated with the most recent and most honest happenings possible. It’s hard to be honest on the internet. There are tons of people I have never met reading the things that we say. We keep up with our myspace, which seems to surprise some of the people we meet. For the most part, Far-Less is a DIY type business. We do have label help from time to time like ads in magazines and recording costs. For the most part though, we fund it.I know that it’s much ”cooler” to keep that air of mystery about a band. It’s cooler to think that a band is a bunch of bad ass dudes that make this awesome art and you are never supposed to figure them out. That’s not how I work and it’s not how most of the members past or present in this group work either.

I’ve seen some comments to the last bulletin that sparked this blog. First of all, if we were to break up at any point that would in no way make us cliche. There is nothing cliche about our band at all and that happens to be one of our downfalls as far as business goes. One of the reasons we are having such a hard time is the fact that the world loves cliche and over done crap that is dolled up in girls jeans, straight hair, colorful shirts, and mediocre talent.

We have always tried to bring it to you as real and as honest as we can. We don’t pretend to be anyone else but ourselves and we greatly appreciate anyone who believes in what we do but there simply aren’t enough of you. We can’t turn enough heads on these tours because we aren’t providing the soundtrack to your middle and highschool dances or parties. We don’t write music to cater to anyone…well…Personally I would love to see a crowd of people that read frequently and love the bands that I love but I don’t expect it. We write the music that we want to hear.

This may sound jumbled…because it is. I have so many things going on in my head right now. I’m not asking you to feel sorry for us…trust me…we are fine. What I’m saying is Jordan and I still live with our parents and after 4 years of touring and never making a dime it’s time to rethink our game plan. There is no need for us to tour if we aren’t going to be playing in front of the right crowds. But what is the right crowd? I still don’t know. I do know that we are poor and we don’t want to live with our parents anymore. So, with that being said we will continue to write and play shows here and there so we can pay off all the debts we have aquired through our travels but don’t expect us to tour anytime soon unless some major awesome shit happens, like…maybe we get paid.

It’s not all about the money…trust me. We would have given up long ago if it were. We can’t seem to find our ”target market” as they say in the business world. So, we are going to work at home and maybe go back to school for a while. Who knows? This attitude may change…but most likely not. There is so much musical ground left for us to cover as a band and as individuals. We want to do this and we also want to be in like 6 other bands too. We are going to do all of that and I have a feeling it will be great for us all.

So don’t get down or be sad. We are fine…but hell…Some of you signing our guestbook should have come to shows and supported the live music thing a little more but I’m not mad. Life has it’s way of working things out. We tried our hardest and we will continue to try. We just aren’t sacrifing our personal lives completely anymore. My dog needs a yard to run around in, ya know?

Love to all who support and believe in our art and any other art that is honest and not just here to make some quick money. Believe me…fakes are everywhere and they tend to do much better than the bands who don’t bend for fame. Support our friends. House of Fools are one of the best bands on this planet. Glass Ocean rules. The Honorary Title rules. Mae and Paulson…there are more but my head hurts to think of them all.

Listen to Pink Floyd and don’t fret…we will be back sooner than you think.
