Iron Maiden julkaisee marraskuussa juhlapainoksen ”The Number Of The Beast” -albumistaan

Englantilainen heavy metal -suuruus Iron Maiden julkaisee marraskuun 18. päivä juhlapainoksen 40 vuotta maaliskuussa täyttäneestä ”The Number Of The Beast” -albumistaan. Kolmesta vinyylistä koostuvassa juhlajulkaisussa on alkuperäisen albumin lisäksi tarjolla myös Maidenin perustajan ja basistin Steve Harrisin kirjoittamia muistiinpanoja ja entisöityjä sekä laajennettuja taideteoksia ”Beast Over Hammersmith” -julkaisusta. ”Beast Over Hammersmith” oli aikaisemmin saatavilla ainoastaan osana ”Eddie’s Archive” -boksia, joka julkaistiin vuonna 2002 rajoitettuna painoksena sekä myöhemmin vuonna 2003 suuren kysynnän vuoksi. Nyt se tulee saataville myös vinyylin muodossa juhlajulkaisun yhteydessä.

Steve Harris kertoo yhtyeen päätöksestä poistaa juhlajulkaisulta ”Gangland”-kappale ja lisätä sen tilalle ”Total Eclipse” seuraavasti:

”On this vinyl release we get the chance to put ’Total Eclipse’ in its rightful spot on the album for the first time. The reason it didn’t make it in the first place was that it was all a mad rush when we were finishing the record and we had to get the ’Run To The Hills’ single out before the tour and we basically had to pick a B-side and it was between ’Gangland’ and ’Total Eclipse’ and we just picked the wrong one, really! I think ’Total Eclipse’ is a stronger song and the album would have been stronger if it had been on there.”
