Iron Maidenin lentokone vaurioitui Santiagon lentokentällä

Englantilainen heavy metalin jättiläinen Iron Maiden kiertää parhaillaan maailmaa ”The Book Of Souls” -albuminsa tiimoilta. Yhtyeen vokalistin Bruce Dickinsonin kipparoima Ed Force One -nimellä kulkeva lentokone on joutunut Santiagossa Chilessä tankkaukseen tarkoitetun välilaskun yhteydessä kolariin. Tapaus sattui, kun Ed Force One oli välilaskun aikana tankattavana. Lentokonetta hinannut ohjausmekanismi hajosi konetta siirtäessä ja kone putosi näennäisesti. Kaksi lentokoneen moottoria vaurioituvat sekä kaksi varikolla työskennellyttä ihmistä jouduttiin viemään sairaalaan tutkimuksiin. Yhtye on julkaissut aiheeseen liittyen seuraavanlaisen tiedotteen:

”The flight engineers are on site and evaluating the damage, but their initial report is that the engines have suffered large damage and will require an extended period of maintenance and possibly two new engines.

”We are currently making contingency arrangements to get to the show in Cordoba tomorrow with band, crew and equipment intact. Fortunately the 20 tons of equipment had not been loaded onto Ed Force One at the time of the accident.
