Slipknotin Corey Taylor vallitsevasta cancel-kulttuurista: ”Kukaan ei ole täydellinen. Lopettakaa teeskentely että meidän kaikkien pitäisi olla!”

Cancel-kulttuuri on internetaktivismia, jonka tavoitteena on eristää ”vääriä” mielipiteitä esittävä ihminen sosiaalisesta piiristään, asettaa hänet boikottiin tai saada hänet menettämään työpaikkansa. Tämä tehdään nostamalla kohde julkisesti tikunnokkaan puheista tai eleistä, jotka määritellään ”ongelmallisiksi”. Yhdysvaltalaisen metalliyhtye Slipknotin laulaja Corey Taylor on tuoreessa Rolling Stonen haastattelussa ottanut kantaa cancel-kulttuuriin ja kertonut sen vain pilaavan maailmaa. Taylorin mukaan kukaan ihminen ei ole täydellinen ja kaikki tekevät virheitä, joten hänen mielestään on väärin alkaa heti tuomita ihmistä antamatta tälle edes mahdollisuutta parantaa tapojaan. Laulaja kehottaa ihmisiä miettimään asioita tarkemmin ennen kuin alkavat heiluttamaan vasaraa, sillä kaikki asiat eivät ole aina niin mustavalkoisia kuin miltä ne päällepäin näyttävät.
