SoundCloudin toimitusjohtaja: ”Musiikkisi ei häviä mihinkään, emmekä mekään”

Uutisoimme aiemmin tänään ruotsalaisen musiikkipalvelun SoundCloudin taloudellisista vaikeuksista, jonka vuoksi yhtiö oli uhassa kaatua. Räpmuusikko Chance the Rapper, joka on saanut uransa nousuun SoundCloudin ansiosta, aloitti kovan työn pitääkseen palvelun toiminnassa. TechCrunch kertoi, että yhtiö oli irtisanonut 173 työntekijäänsä ja sulkenut toimitilansa San Franciscossa sekä Lontoossa. SoundCloudin toimitsjohtaja Alex Ljung kertoi, että yhtiö joutui tekemään vaikeat päätöksensä pysyäkseen itsenäisenä toimijana

“Last week we had to make some tough decisions to let go of some of our staff, but we did this to ensure SoundCloud remains a strong, independent company.”

Chance the Rapper twiittasi aiemmin panostavansa SoundCloudin hyväksi, ja nyt kun yhtiö vahvisti jatkavansa normaalisti, räp artisti julkaisi uuden kappaleen yksinoikeudella SoundCloudin kautta. TechCrunch otti yhteyttä SoundCloudiin, josta vahvistettiin Chancen osallistuneen SoundCloudin tilanteen parantamiseksi.
