Ten56. -laulaja Aaron Matts kertoo julkisesti opioidiriippuvuudestaan: Yhtyeen uusi kappale ”Traumadoll + RLS” kuunneltavissa

Ranskalaisen metalcore-yhtye Betraying The Martyrsin entinen laulaja ja nykyisin Ten56. -yhtyeessä vaikuttava Aaron Matts on julkaissut yhtyeen uuden ”Traumadoll + RLS” -nimisen kappaleen julkaisun yhteydessä kirjoituksen, jossa kertoo julkisesti opioidiriippuvuudestaan. Matts kertoo Facebookiin julkaisemassaan päivityksessä kärsineensä riippuvuudesta jo useiden vuosien ajan, mutta hakeutuneensa vihdoin hoitoon saadakseen itsensä kuntoon. Hän kertoi aiheesta seuraavaa:

”This might be a long post but it’s something that I feel is necessary to put out there to give context to these tracks and also to have a trace of accountability for myself. For as long as I can remember I’ve suffered from pretty severe anxiety, mood swings and insomnia; more importantly, in recent years I have struggled in complete silence with an opioid addiction, for years I hid an increasingly worsening habit without telling a single soul. Self medicating and not confiding in those around you I can assure you leads to a very dark place. I hit a point around 6 months or so ago, where I was obliged to tell my friends and family what I was going through, cause I was very visibly suffering mentally and physically, I could almost physically feel the concern from those around me joining me in every room I entered, and that only made things worse. I’m extremely relieved to have come out of the other side of that particular vice with only minor bumps and scratches, I know there are countless others that are not so lucky 🙏 Anyway, please enjoy the track(s), thank you all for always showing love, it helps get me through each and every day.”
