Nilen entinen kitaristi Dallas Toler-Wade: ”Nile ei koskaan pitänyt taukoa. Kaikki tarvitsevat taukoa.”
Yhdysvaltalainen death metal -yhtye Nile ilmoitti alkuviikosta, että bändin pitkäaikainen kitaristi-laulaja Dallas Toler -Wade lähtee yhtyeestä. Nilen uudeksi laulaja-kitaristiksi nousi Enthean -bändistä tuttu Brian Kingsland. Kingsland pääsi heti todistamaan taitonsa, sillä bändin ensimmäinen keikka oli jo seuraavana päivänä Dallasin lähtöilmoituksen jälkeen.
Dallas Toler-Wade on kertonut keskittyvänsä toiseen, vuonna 2011 perustettuun bändiinsä Narcotic Wastelandiin, jossa toimii kitaristi-laulajana. Narcotic Wasteland työstää parhaillaan toista studioalbumiaan vuonna 2014 julkaistun, yhtyeen nimeä kantavan levyn jatkoksi.
Greenville Journal -media on haastatellut hiljattain Dallas Toler-Wadea, joka kommentoi Nilestä lähtöään:

“The band had never really taken a break. It’s tough out there on the road. It’s a lot of fun, don’t get me wrong, but there’s a not-so-good side to it, too. On that last tour, one night I ended up getting up into a confrontation with another artist from another band.”
“Everybody needs a break. And my son’s about to graduate from school. There are a lot of other reasons, too, but mainly I really need to be home right now.”
Toler-Wade kertoi, että pienen tauon jälkeen Narcotic Wasteland lähtee pienimuotoiselle kiertueelle:

“It’s supposed to be fun. When I joined Nile back in 1997, I don’t think any of us thought we were going to do anything other than play regionally. I never really cared about any of that. It’s about the music. You’ve got to be able to pay bills, but the most important thing is having fun with this uncompromising music, wherever that takes you. It can take you down at the local bar or it can take you around the world.”
Nilen kitaristi-laulaja Karl Sanders oli harmissaan Dallasin lähtöaikeista, sillä ei ollut varmaa kuinka kauan heillä menisi uuden bändin jäsenen löytämisessä. Kingsland löytyi kuitenkin yllättävän nopeasti ja helposti, josta Sanders kommentoi:
“We lucked out. We found somebody that lives in the Upstate. How awesome is that? [Nile basist] Brad Parris said he knew a guy that could do the job, and he was right.”
“We put Brian through a pretty stringent gauntlet, but he walked through it like a champion,” he says. “He dug in and did his homework; he studied all the live versions of our songs. He can tell you who sang the song in which way on what tour. If ever there were any exemplary way to join a band, that would be it.”
